Homeless at Home

Last night I slept in my truck on the street for the first time. It wasn't as comfortable as my bed but it was the best night's sleep I've had in 2 years. I only woke up twice the whole night. Quite a difference from being woken up hourly every night. The quiet is bliss and no fears of death by fire.

So I am now sleeping on the street while the street person lives in my house, very ironic.

endofmyrope,

I'm glad you can keep your sense of humor through all this. I don't know how you do it.

Hope the truck has AC lol. I have been using a nifty little program similar to Environs (any audio nerds out there) called Atmosphere Lite. You can select the background sounds and randomize them. I have found Thunderstorm with Crackling Fire to be my sweet spot. I just need to have Keillor on to complete the trifecta. You can even set a shut off alarm (although I wouldn't in your case ;) Just an idea. Try drowning out his noise with more soothing sounds. I dunno, works for me and I have an awful time getting to sleep. That and a fat bowl before you settle in- man, that's where it's at. You might try looking up the aforementioned pot friends again and see if it helps. Not too much though, Myself and that other guy need updates ;)http://www.relaxingsoftware.com/atmlitedownload.htm

I actually see a lot of humor in all this, just wish it wasn't me.

I tried ear plugs, a pillow speaker and headphones. Nothing helped me from waking up. It's tough to drown out a belly flop into the floor at 4am. I like to listen to a boring talk show, the local Government TV channel on cable or a shopping channel. Any of those usually put me to sleep. I've never tried any of those background sounds, would like to try them. Weed doesn't help me sleep anymore, it used to. I still have a bag of kind bud that's a couple years old. It's sealed tight though and still smells nice. What knocks me right out is Xanax. It doesn't keep me out the whole night though.
